My hobby is to make connections between the workings of the rhombencephalon (hind or animal brain regions) and the subsequent rationalizations of the prosencephalon (cortical brain regions) in modern-day society. My suspicion is that top-level consciousness, supported by the neocortex and the existence of culture, is a tool the animal brain has evolved in order to fulfill the two basic needs in homo sapiens sapiens society: dominion (sex and territory) and sustinence (shelter and nourishment). By exploring the connection between the base animal and the modern "human" construct, the underlying meanings between everyday social interactions will reveal their animal nature. In understanding the animal nature of social interaction, one can harness and control the efforts of the homo sapiens sapiens animal to one's own ends.
